Pepper "Nokturn" bears dark purple, triangular, extremely ornamental, and at the same very tasty, fruit. The ripening fruit takes on intense purple colour that might resemble the colouring of ripe plums, while the fully mature fruit will also display a hint of cherry-red colouring. These peppers grow medium-large - weigh 50 - 90 g - and take on a conical shape. The fruit walls are crunchy and at least 3-4 mm thick. Purple, regularly shaped fruit may be served whole with sandwiches and fillings, chopped in salads or simply used as garnish. They present the same high nutritional value as their yellow and red relatives, as they contain comparable amounts of vitamin C and minerals.
